Theme parks and DIY-fireworks are not the only options Central Florida offers for celebrating our national holiday.  You can avoid spending big money —  and save yourself from possible injury – by enjoying one (or more) of the following FREE events taking place in and around Orlando, Winter Garden, Oviedo, and our other Central Florida communities between Wednesday July 3 and Saturday July 6, 2019. Most of these events include outstanding fireworks, some of which will light up our local lakes with their brilliant displays.
As with any plans you make for spending a day outdoors during the Florida summer, you might consider bringing along some of the following:

  • Chairs or a blanket
  • Sunscreen and bug spray
  • Water & hydrating snacks like fresh fruits and veggies
  • Rain poncho (and remember, these outdoor events are “weather permitting”)
  • Patience and grace (folks may need an extra helping of each if the weather doesn’t permit the “weather permitting” event for which they have spent a day waiting in the heat)

Whatever you plan to bring, stay flexible.  Permissible items vary by venue so before you pack up that pop-up canopy, cooler, and half-dozen camp chairs, be sure to check out the links that follow for more information axxbout the specifics for each event.  .  For example, many of these family-friendly events do not allow alcohol.  Some may not allow coolers of any kind.  Others require that for the safety of your pet and others, four-legged-friends be left at home.
