It’s simply a new way Grace will begin thinking and talking about our volunteer teams from a whole-church perspective. For example, you might serve in graceKIDS! or Guest Services, but overall, you’re a part of Team Grace. Team Grace is everyone who owns a piece of the work that makes our church go.
Why Team Grace?
Because we want to do three things:
• See the big picture of how the whole church and all our teams are working together to accomplish our mission
• Intentionally work together to accomplish whole-church goals
• See, honor, and support the work of other teams
What is Team Grace all about?
The new Team Grace Logo serves as a reminder:
- Serving is the “power button” of the church. It’s the engine. Without volunteers we don’t go. It takes more than 1000 volunteer hours to make one Sunday happen at Grace. Learn more about what you can do.
- Serving is the primary target of our NEXT membership classes. The last class is Discover Purpose — finding where you fit here and can become part of the family.
- Serving is the ultimate target or goal of our discipleship – laying down our lives in the way Jesus did:
Mark 9:35 “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” Matthew 20:26 “whoever would be great among you must be your servant”
Philippians 2:5-7 “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.”
Servanthood is the most complete expression of our Christ-like leadership as pastors, staff, ministry directors, and team leaders.
If we look like Jesus, we look like servants. That’s what Team Grace is all about.
