Advent 2025

Messiah, who was and is and is to come,

Redeem us. Rescue us. Lead us to repentance.
Anchor our souls in the hope that You have come and You will come again.

We confess how often we ignore the anthem of hopeful redemption
that creation joyously sings.
All things are being made new. This is the promise.
In the despair that envelops us, lift our eyes to our future.
Awaken in us a desire to see Your Kingdom come.

With eager anticipation, we look ahead to the good on the horizon.
In the here and now, may Your hope be our song.

Amen.

Mesías, que era, que es y que ha de venir,

Redímenos. Rescátanos. Guíanos al arrepentimiento.
Ancla nuestras almas en la esperanza de que Tú has venido y volverás.

Confesamos con qué frecuencia ignoramos el himno de la redención llena de esperanza
que la creación canta alegremente.
Todas las cosas están siendo hechas nuevas. Ésta es la promesa.
En la desesperación que nos envuelve, levanta la mirada hacia nuestro futuro.
Despierta en nosotros el deseo de ver venir Tu Reino.

Con gran anticipación, miramos hacia lo bueno que se avecina en el horizonte.
En el aquí y ahora, esperamos que Tu esperanza sea nuestra canción.

Week 2 (12/6-7)

Prince of our Eternal Peace,

Your reign spans the universe, yet it resides in us.
Though we were far away, You came near.
In our absence, You are present.

We confess our doubt and distrust.
How we long for certainty!
How we long for assurance!
In our desperation,
we cry out and You are right here.
Reveal Yourself to us as all we need.

Draw us near to You, Jesus.
Quiet the chaos and confusion around us.
Give us peace.

Amen.

Príncipe de nuestra Paz Eterna,

Tu reinado se extiende por todo el universo, pero reside en nosotros.
Aunque estábamos lejos, tú llegaste cerca.
En nuestra ausencia, Tú estás presente.

Confesamos nuestra duda y desconfianza.
¡Cuánto anhelamos la certeza!
¡Cuánto anhelamos tener seguridad!
En nuestra desesperación,
te llamamos y ahí estás.
Revélate a nosotros como todo lo que necesitamos.

Acércanos a Ti, Jesús.
Silencia el caos y la confusión que nos rodea.
Danos la paz.

Week 3 (12/13-14)

Christ Jesus, Light of the World,

You stepped into our cold, dark existence
and brought brilliant light and abundant joy.
You authored this grand work of redemption.
You set in motion our eternal freedom.
You spoke divine harmony into the dissonance.

We confess that we neglect to live in joy.
Our hearts are brittle with superficial sorrow.
We center ourselves on our circumstances,
rather than Your Kingdom.

Give us confidence that You will complete the good You began.
Carry us forward through this life
to be beacons of Your kindness and joy and goodness and light.

Amen.

Cristo Jesús, Luz del Mundo,

Entraste a nuestra fría y oscura existencia
y trajiste luz brillante y alegría abundante.
Tú fuiste el autor de esta gran obra de redención.
Tú pusiste en movimiento nuestra libertad eterna.
Hablaste armonía divina en la disonancia.

Confesamos que descuidamos vivir con alegría.
Nuestros corazones están quebrantados por el dolor superficial.
Nos centramos en nuestras circunstancias,
en lugar de Tu Reino.

Danos confianza en que completarás el bien que comenzaste.
Llévanos adelante a través de esta vida
para ser faros de Tu bondad, alegría, fidelidad y luz.
