The holiday season is in full swing.

Christmas is just around the corner. The decorations are up. The sales are everywhere. Mariah Carey is back on the radio. And chances are, you’ve already started making room in your life and in your home for what’s coming.

Maybe you’re making room for a Christmas tree, or trees, depending on your commitment to “decking the halls.” Maybe you’re rearranging the furniture for the people who will gather around your table. If your family is anything like ours, that may mean pushing every table you own together and hoping everyone can squeeze in. Maybe you are already creating space on your December calendar for Christmas activities, parties, and events.

We make room for Christmas.

More Than A Number

And this year at Grace, those words carry even more meaning.

Through The Here For Good Project, we are asking God to help us make room, not just for Christmas, but for the years ahead. Not simply for more space, more ministry, or more people in a building, but for more people to encounter Jesus and experience the life change that comes from knowing Him in a city that needs Him desperately.

More than two million people live in Central Florida who aren’t connected to a church, and they aren’t just a number. They have names, stories, families, questions, hurts and hopes.

Like the guy who’s never stepped foot into a church before and isn’t quite sure what to believe.

The family who looks like they have it all together… but really they’re falling apart.

The student who feels alone and just needs a place to belong.

The woman who already follows Jesus but knows that they have another step to take.

The person carrying grief, hurt, or disappointment, that they don’t have answers for.

We make room because we believe Jesus meets people in all of those places.
Some may be one invitation, one conversation, or one worship service away from taking their first step toward Jesus.

And a first step can change everything.

A life.
A family.
A generation.

That’s why our generosity matters. When we give to The Here For Good Project, we’re not simply making a bigger building possible. We’re making room for real people.

Because He Came Near

John tells us, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” John 1:14

Jesus came near. He stepped into our brokenness, welcomed the hurting and lonely, and made a way for us to come home to our heavenly Father.

And because Jesus came near, we will too. Not just at Christmas, but in the ways we love, serve, and make room for others every day.

Through Here For Good, we have an opportunity to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Something that outlasts us.

What if the greatest thing Grace ever did happened after we’re gone?
People far from God finding their way back home.

Families restored. Relationships healed.

Communities transformed by the hope of Jesus.

What if all of this happened because we said yes?
Because you said yes.

He came near. He stepped into our mess… our pain… and our brokenness. He joined those others avoided. He made room for the hurting… the doubting… the struggling… and the searching. Ultimately, Jesus made a way for all of us to come home to our Heavenly Father.

And now, we get to do the same.

We make room at the table. We make room in our church. We make room in our city. We make room for people to encounter the love of Jesus.

Because when people encounter Jesus, everything can change.

Lives can be transformed.
Families can be restored.
Generations can be changed.

That’s the invitation this Christmas and long into the future here at Grace: make room.

For Jesus.
For people.
For what God wants to do through Grace in the years ahead because we are Here for Good.
