As someone who made a commitment to The Good Initiative (TGI)I am writing
  • to thank you for your faithfulness — you’re incredible!
  • to invite you personally to our Celebration Weekend Nov 30/Dec 1 and
  • to share a detailed update on the goals of TGI.

WHERE WE ARE

When we launched TGI in December of 2022, Grace had three campuses. As you know, we made the hard decision to close the Winter Garden campus in the fall of 2023, and in April of 2024, we launched Grace Oviedo as Church of the Commons. These were not easy decisions, but ones we believed God was leading us to make. Those decisions have contributed greatly to our health, and they have also impacted TGI. We are committed to our mission, to our goals, and to clear communication with you as we finish strong. Read more about it — and take a few moments to read and celebrate!

GALATIANS 6:9-10

LET US NOT BECOME WEARY IN DOING GOOD, FOR AT THE PROPER TIME WE WILL REAP A HARVEST IF WE DO NOT GIVE UP. THEREFORE, AS WE HAVE OPPORTUNITY, LET US DO GOOD TO ALL PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY TO THOSE WHO BELONG TO THE FAMILY OF BELIEVERS.

ABOUT OUR GOALS

The Good Initiative had two primary goals:
  • The first goal was 100% engagement — everyone taking a step of generosity together.
  • The secondary goal was $30 million given over two years. This goal included our regular operating budget for 25 months, plus additional funds for several large projects.
  • Of that goal, we projected that the Orlando campus would give $22 million.
Good news: as of October 31, 2024, Grace Orlando is on track to meet our $22 million goal if we give generously in December. We’re encouraging people with commitments to finish strong and also inviting new people to join us in the Year-End Offering for The Good Initiative.
I am thanking God for your faithfulness.

WHAT WE’RE DOING NOW

This fall, we’ve been focusing on our primary goal of 100% engagement. We are telling stories of generosity in the services, and encouraging everyone to take a step of faith in their giving. We are
  • inviting those who are new to Grace to be involved
  • challenging those who have a commitment to finish strong
  • encouraging those who have finished their commitment to take one more step of faith in generosity as we move toward the finish line of The Good Initiative at the end of 2024.

01

AN INVESTMENT IN THE LOCAL CHURCH — AND IN REACHING PEOPLE ONLINE.

You are helping us crush this goal: we had more kids at Fall Kickoff this year than we had total attendance — adults, kids, and students — during our first weekends in this building! Since TGI began:

2200

we’ve seen more than 2,200 people take a first step toward Jesus at Grace

360

we’ve baptized more than 360 people

6

we added our sixth weekend service on Sundays at 12:30p, and that service now includes Spanish translation to help reach more of our neighbors

12,000

Grace Online subscribers have grown from under 3,000 to more than 12,000 during TGI

70%

our in-person attendance has grown by 70%

200

Grace Online views have increased more than 200% since we launched TGI, with thousands worshiping online each week and almost one million views in these two years

10,000

In all, almost 10,000 people have taken a measurable next step at Grace (like giving, serving, or joining a group or class) in just the last six months!

02

A HOME FOR OUR OVIEDO CAMPUS.

As I mentioned, we launched our Oviedo campus in early 2024 as the Church of the Commons. We generously gave Pastor Clint and Jeanne and this new church
  • 100% of the donations Grace Oviedo had given and set aside beyond their operating expenses toward their TGI goals
  • 100% of the physical equipment and resources we have invested in the campus over the years

03

THE NEW CENTER FOR TEACHING AND HEALING.

It’s done!

We’re wrapping up the final touches, and you’re invited to Grand Opening Tours of the building and the new Grace Counseling Center on Celebration Weekend at Grace on Nov 30/Dec 1.

Join us to see what your generosity has done and will do for our community as we open the largest Christian counseling center in Central Florida. We cannot wait to bring more healing and hope to our neighbors. It’s all because of you.

04

A FULLY-STAFFED WINTER GARDEN CAMPUS.

In early 2023, we completed this goal by hiring a full staff team for our Winter Garden campus.

When that campus closed, your giving made it possible to retain those staff members and reassign them to positions needed for the strength of the team at Orlando.

Each of them is thriving in their new role, and we are thrilled to have them with us!

05

EXPANDED SPACE TO REACH FAMILIES AND GROW MINISTRY AT THE ORLANDO CAMPUS.

Perhaps the most exciting update: we have been working with a contractor, surveyors, and the county to lay the groundwork for expanding the Orlando campus.

The growth at Grace Church has been astounding, and we are committed to expanding to meet that growth in a way that cares for our people and our teams, and that leaves our mission, our vision, and our culture stronger than ever.

Be in prayer for this project. It is complicated! But we are doing the work and trusting that God will show up as we show up. Be watching for updates and next steps in 2025!
