Grace Counseling FAQs
What is Grace Counseling?
Grace Counseling offers professional, Christian-based counseling to our community in a reduced-cost model. We combine grace and truth to heal the emotional and spiritual health of individuals, marriage, and families.
Grace Counseling opened its doors in 2019 and was started by Grace Church, a non-denominational Christian church in Central Florida.
What is Christian counseling and what does this mean to me?
Grace Counseling offers professional, clinical counseling to our clients using a Christian lens. While all of our therapists are Christians, the extent to which faith is activity incorporated in your therapy is up to you. 50% of our clients are not connected to Grace Church.
Where are your locations and what are your hours?
Grace Counseling has two locations, one in Orlando and one in Oviedo and offers appointments Monday through Friday, with evening appointments available at the Orlando location based on availability.
How long are therapy sessions?
Each therapy session is scheduled for 50 mins. Extended sessions can be made available upon request.
How do I schedule an appointment?
The easiest way to schedule an appointment is to email [email protected]
You can also give us a call at 407.519.1307.
How do I know which therapist is right for me?
That’s a great question! Part of our intake process involves getting to know your needs and why are you seeking counseling. Our team will then make recommendations based on your needs. You can also read more about each of our therapists on our this page.
What are the different levels of therapists?
At Grace Counseling, we have licensed therapists, registered mental health interns and student interns.
In the state of Florida, to become a licensed therapist, after you receive your master’s degree, you need to complete 1,500 hours of counseling and pass Florida board exams to apply to become a licensed therapist.
Our team of registered mental health interns have all completed their master’s degrees and are in the process of becoming licensed, and many have been working in the field for years.
Student Interns at Grace Counseling are pursuing their master’s degree in counseling. Part of going to school to become a therapist is working with clients in a clinical setting and we love that we can include Student Interns as a part of our team.
All registered mental health interns and student interns at Grace are under the supervision of our Site Supervisor, a licensed mental health counselor, and a state-certified qualified supervisor.
Do you offer telehealth (virtual) options?
Yes we do! Just ask.
How much does therapy cost?
At Grace Counseling, we want to provide professional counseling at an affordable rate to our clients. Grace charges between $25-$75 per session depending on your level of therapist.
What if I am unable to afford your rates -- are there other options available?
We do have scholarships available for those that qualify.
Do you accept insurance?
Grace Counseling does not accept insurance. However, due to our reduced-cost model, our rates for therapy are often less than co-pays with insurance.
