Spring Baptism Picnic Sunday | April 22, 2018
On Sunday, April 22, 2018 we’ll host our spring all-campus baptism at the Grace Church building (2300 Pembrook Drive)! We’ll gather for a free picnic outside starting at 12:30p, and the service will begin at 1:30p in the sanctuary. We’re excited to see what God will do — sign up for baptism today.
Got kids and think they might be ready for baptism? Walk through this journal with them to teach them about it.

Baptism is your first step.
The Bible is clear: the very first step for someone who’s chosen to follow Christ is the sacrament of baptism. We are baptized to follow the example set by Christ (Mark 1:9), because Christ commanded it (Matthew 28:19-20), and because it demonstrates that we are believers (I John 2:3; Romans 6:3-4; Acts 2:41; Acts 8:12).
Obedience in baptism says “I belong to God.” It is a public witness to your faith and a symbol of the transformation of your life — dying to self and coming alive to God. In this way, it illustrates Christ’s death, burial and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Colossians 2:12).
Baptism at Grace is a true celebration of changed lives. Twice a year — usually in April and November — we gather all our campuses together at the lake for a picnic to rejoice in the hearts God is transforming through our church.
Who Should Be Baptized?
Every person who trusts in Jesus Christ for their salvation should be baptized. Having decided to trust Jesus alone for their salvation, they follow Him in baptism as a symbol of their new life in Him.
“Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” (Acts 2:41)
“On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” (Acts 19:5)
“And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.” (Acts 22:16)
